Nested on Main Road, this charming cafe has garnered a positive reputation, highlighted by its friendly staff and inviting atmosphere. Standout reviews emphasize the scrumptious all-day breakfast, featuring proper fried bread, and the hearty beef dinner that has earned five-star acclaim. With generous portion sizes, it's crucial to save room for their infamous desserts, including sticky toffee pudding and cherry pie, which are often accompanied by delightful aromas wafting through the cafe.

The attentive service and dog-friendly policy enhance the experience, and many recommend booking ahead due to its popularity, especially during sunny days when outdoor seating adds to the charm.
In essence, The Hearth Cafe is a haven for comfort food lovers, combining quality fare with a warm atmosphere.

Delicious food for a little cafe. We had soup and paninis; excellent value. A great selection of vegetarian options here. Waitresses were lovely, especially helpful and attentive. Sadly, the cake that we bought to takeaway was dry. It was the last piece so maybe it had been sitting around for a while. Would try another
Quaint cafe, pleasant staff and good atmosphere. Limited menu well presented.
Definitely worth the 5 stars! The beef dinner was absolutely delightful and the desserts were just as good too! At just under 40 for two people with 2 courses and a drink each was amazing
I eat here regularly and the food is always amazing. They change the menu frequently and there is always a great choice of sandwiches and different meals. The portions are huge so be warned and try and leave room for cake. Particularly if they have been making sticky toffee pudding or cherry pie. The smells are amazing. They've worked really hard with social distancing and there is a one way system in place and the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. You can take dogs which is a bonus but I'd recommend you book as it's popular. Outdoor seating is available and when it's sunny that's lovely to sit in the garden.
First time visit and will not be last . Fabulous all day breakfast with real fried bread . Good quality food , cooked well and not expensive. Staff friendly and attentive , service prompt.
I’ve had the all day breakfast here twice now. Not only does it have quality ingredients but everything is cooked perfectly. It’s obvious that care is taken to cook all the ingredients properly - sausage and bacon just right, the egg had a soft yolk and firm white. Could not be better. I’ll be back very soon.
Excellent village cafe serving delicious snacks, hot food and drinks. Went for breakfast on Saturday morning and were looked after by the friendly staff. Vegetarian and gluten free options plus catering for different dietary requirements. Lovely atmosphere with terrific scran, well worth a visit.
Decided to visit after our walk in the windy, cold and rainy Shaftoe Crag. Craving something hot and greasy. Would normally not have a breakfast after 13 but because it was on offer and we could not resist, my husband and I ordered it. Definitely hit the spot and served piping hot! i mean PIPING HOT! Literally hashafashasha while eating it. Hubby had his as is but me being the weirdo asked for the black pudding swapped for another slice of bacon.
